How to Easily Remove Blood Stains from Wool

Did you have an accident with blood on wool? Don't panic! Here's a simple guide on how to clean up the mess. With a few simple steps, you can easily remove stain.

What You'll Need:

  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Dishwashing Detergent or Soap
  • Cold Water

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Begin by gently blotting the stain with a clean cloth, being careful to not spread the stain.

Step 2: Rinse with Cold Water

Using cold water, rinse the area in the same direction as the wool fibers for up to 10 minutes.

Step 3: Apply Dishwashing Detergent or Soap

Gently massage a small amount of dishwashing detergent or soap onto the stain.

Step 4: Rinse Again with Cold Water

Rinse the detergent or soap off wool and repeat Steps 1-4 as needed to remove stain.

Step 5: Soak the Wool in Hydrogen Peroxide

To fully remove the stain, soak the wool in three parts cold water and one part hydrogen peroxide for up to 30 minutes.

Step 6: Rinse and Dry

Rinse the wool in cold water, squeeze out excess water, and then lay flat to dry.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Keep repeating the cleaning process until the stain has completely disappeared.
  • Use a gentle cloth when soaking wool in order to not damage the fibers.
  • Avoid using hot water, as it can set the stain and make it harder to remove.
