Cleaning blood stains from watches can be difficult if you don’t know right methods and techniques. Blood is a stubborn stain that needs to be treated with care and attention. But fear not, removing it may not require an expensive visit to the jeweller.

What You'll Need

  • A soft cloth
  • A clean bowl
  • Mild soap or detergent
  • Water
  • Alcohol

Instructions

  1. Soak your watch in cold water to remove any excess blood.
  2. Create a mild soap solution by mixing a few drops of detergent or soap with a small amount of water. Dip your cloth into the mixture and wring it out until the cloth is only damp.
  3. Gently rub the cloth over the stained area of the watch. Be careful not to press too hard as some watches can be easily scratched.
  4. Change the cloth and dip it into the warm water, then wring it out again. Use this cloth to rinse away any soap residue.
  5. If the stain persists, use a small cloth dabbed in rubbing alcohol to lightly rub away the stain. Rubbing alcohol is quite harsh, so use it sparingly.
  6. Use a clean dry cloth to wipe the watch and make sure it is completely dry before wearing it.

With these steps, you should be able to remove most blood stains from watches easily and without an expensive visit to the jeweller.
