One way to start removing blood from wallpaper is to try a vacuum cleaner. Start by lightly vacuuming area to help loosen up the stain or any residue left behind. If the stain has set in, you may need to use a stronger suction vacuum.
Once you’ve vacuumed area, it’s time to apply a cleaning solution. A mixture of warm water and mild detergent is a great choice for removing thicker stubborn stains. Dampen a cloth with the solution and gently rub it onto the wallpaper. Do not rub too hard as this could damage wallpaper. Be sure to rinse off the wallpaper with a clean cloth and cold water afterwards.
If your wallpaper is made of a vinyl material, you can also use a vinegar solution to help remove the stain. Create a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water, then apply it directly to the stain. Let solution sit for at least five minutes before wiping it away with a damp cloth. You can also try using a light abrasive cleaner like Ajax or Comet.
If these methods do not work, you may need to replace the wallpaper. Having a professional wallpaper installer come in to replace the wallpaper can be the safest and most cost-effective way to get the job done right. Be sure to ask questions so that you understand exactly what the job will entail and what the costs will be.
