What You’ll Need

  • Dish detergent
  • Borax or baking soda
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • White cotton cloth
  • Optional: Laundry detergent booster

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Mix 1/4 teaspoon of dish detergent with 1/4 cup of lukewarm water in a small bowl.

  2. Dampen a white cloth in the mixture, and then blot the stained area of your underwear.

  3. Rinse the stained area with cold water, and then dab it with a dry cloth.

  4. If stain persists, mix 1/2 teaspoon of borax with 1 cup of lukewarm water. Blot stain until the solution is completely gone.

  5. For tougher stains, create a paste by combining 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide with 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Apply paste directly to the stain, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

  6. Gently rinse the paste away, and dab the area with a dry cloth.

  7. Allow underwear to air dry before laundering as usual (with an optional laundry detergent booster).

Tips for Success

  • Act quickly and thoroughly—the longer you wait, the harder it will be to remove the stain.
  • Always test household cleaners on an inconspicuous area of the garment first to make sure the fabric won't be damaged.
  • For best results, use cold water.
