Using a blunt knife, begin by scraping off any dried blood that has hardened onto the surface of the umbrella. Make sure to use gentle motions and scrape only the dried material.
Fill a basin or washtub with cold water and submerge the umbrella for about 10-15 minutes. This will give the water enough time to loosen the remaining blood spots.
Create a soapy solution with a few drops of dish soap and cold water. Use a soft cloth or sponge to rub the soapy solution into the stained area. Once you have scrubbed entire area, rinse it off with cold water.
Hydrogen peroxide is an effective way to remove blood stains. Pour a few drops directly onto stained area and then use an old toothbrush to spread it around. Let the hydrogen peroxide sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Once excess blood has been removed, allow the umbrella to air dry. If the stain persists, repeat the steps above until the stain is completely gone.
With a little bit of patience, restoring an umbrella with a blood stain is possible. Just follow these simple steps and you'll be able to enjoy a dried, stain-free umbrella.
