Getting blood stains out of a t-shirt can seem like an impossible task. Fortunately, with the right supplies and know-how, you can make that grimy t-shirt look fresh and new again. Here’s how.

- Remove any excess blood with a paper towel or piece of cloth.
- Run cold water over the stain for approximately one minute before applying an enzyme detergent or pre-treatment spray.
- Soak the garment in cold water for up to two hours.
- Rinse item with cold water until all the detergent has been washed away.
- Wash garment in cold water on the gentle cycle.
- Hang the garment up to dry and inspect area to make sure the stain is gone.
After following these six steps, your t-shirt should be free of any lingering blood stains. Be sure not to use bleach or any other harsh chemicals, as they may have a negative effect on the fabric and color.
