Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain

Start by pre-treating the stain with a few drops of a gentle liquid detergent, or some liquid enzyme laundry detergent. Let the detergent sit for about five minutes before rinsing it off. This will help to loosen the stain and make it easier to remove.

Step 2: Rinse

After pre-treating the stain, rinse it off with cold water. Make sure you use cold water, as hot water may cause the blood to set into the fabric, making it harder to remove.

Step 3: Soak

Fill a container or sink with cool water and add 1/4 cup of distilled white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent. Then, soak your coat in mixture for 30 minutes.

Step 4: Wash

When the soaking time is done, take your coat out and put it in the washing machine. Choose the delicate cycle and use a mild detergent. If the stain is still visible after washing, repeat the process until the stain is gone.

Step 5: Dry

Finally, hang the coat up to dry. Do not use a iron or dryer, as this may cause the stain to set more deeply into the fabric.

Conclusion

Getting rid of a bloodstain on your trench coat doesn't have to be a difficult process. With a bit of effort and the right ingredients, you can easily remove any stubborn bloodstains from your coat.
