What You'll Need

  • Cold water
  • Dish soap
  • Soft-bristled brush (optional)

Procedure

  1. Start by rinsing the stained area with cold water. This will help remove some of stain before you start scrubbing.
  2. Mix a solution of 1 tablespoon of dish soap with one cup of cold water.
  3. Blot the stained area with soapy solution.
  4. Allow the solution to sit on stain for a few minutes.
  5. Rinse the fabric with cold water.
  6. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 2 through 5.
  7. You can also use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub the stain if it won’t come out.

Tips For Removing Blood Stains From Tights

  • Be sure to always use cold water when treating blood stains - hot water will set the stain and make it harder to remove.
  • Do not rub the fabric when blotting as this can cause the stain to spread.
  • Do not put tights in the dryer until you are certain the stain is completely gone. Heat can set the stain further.
