The first step in removing a bloodstain is to gently pre-treat it with a mild detergent or enzyme cleaner. Soak suit in warm water with a small amount of detergent before blotting the stain with a clean cloth. Do not rub or scrub the stain, as this can cause the stain to spread.
Once the pre-treatment is complete, rinse garment with cold water and make sure all of the detergent is removed. This will help remove any remaining residue from pre-treatment and keep the stain from setting into the fabric.
Mix a small amount of Oxi-clean with warm water to make a paste and apply this directly to the stain. Allow it to sit for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off. The Oxi-clean will help break down any proteins in the stain and help remove it from the fabric.
Once the Oxi-clean solution has been applied and rinsed, it’s time to put your suit in washing machine. Make sure to use a mild detergent and set the machine to a cold water cycle. This will help ensure that the stain is completely removed and that the color of the suit is not affected.
With these 4 simple steps, you can easily get rid of a bloodstain on your swimwear and enjoy a stain-free suit for many days of swimming fun!
