When dealing with blood stains on your suit, it’s important to act quickly. Begin by soaking up as much of spilled blood as possible with a paper towel or a dry cloth. Pry up any crusted-over pieces of blood and then dab the area with a clean cloth dampened with some cold water.

Diluted hydrogen peroxide is a great option for removing stubborn blood stains and works best on natural fabrics like wool or cotton. To use it, simply mix one part hydrogen peroxide with one part cold water, dip a clean cloth into mixture, and dab the stained area. Once you’ve allowed the area to dry, rinse the area with cold water and launder fabric as usual.

For synthetic fibers such as polyester, you can use either a diluted detergent solution – three parts cold water, one part mild detergent – or a delicate commercial stain remover. Dip a clean cloth into mixture, dab the stained area, and rinse with cold water.

If the stain is still present despite your best efforts, it may be time to seek professional help. You can take the garment to a dry cleaner or a local tailor and ask for their advice. They will be able to identify what type of fabric you’re dealing with and recommend the best treatment.
