This is easiest method for removing blood stains, although it may require some scrubbing if the stain has been there for awhile. Start with a small amount of warm water and detergent or liquid soap. Apply the mixture directly to the stain, making sure it’s fully saturated. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, then use an old toothbrush to gently scrub area. Make sure not to apply too much pressure or you risk damaging the shoe’s material. Rinse with cold water and repeat as necessary.
This method is especially useful for leather or suede shoes, but it can also be applied to other materials. Mix equal parts white vinegar and baking soda in a bowl to create a paste. Apply a generous amount of the paste to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. When finished, wipe off the paste with a damp cloth. If the stain remains, use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub it away. Use cold water to rinse and repeat if needed.
This combination works best for synthetic materials like canvas or nylon. Start by mixing equal parts hydrogen peroxide and liquid dish soap in a bowl. Apply this mixture to the stain and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then, use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub away the stain in circular motions. Use cold water to rinse off the solution and repeat if necessary.
If all else fails, you can always opt for a commercial product specifically designed to remove tough stains. Simply follow the instructions on the label and your bloodstains should be gone in no time. Just be sure to read all safety warnings before use and avoid using it on leather or suede items.
