- Borax powder
- Water
- Soft cloth
- Rubbing alcohol
- White vinegar
- Hydrogen peroxide 3% solution
- Dry-cleaning solvent
How to Remove Blood Stains from Shearling
Before you start, make sure that the bloodstain is fresh and hasn’t been there for too long.
- Mix one part borax powder with two parts water and stir to make a paste. Apply the paste onto the stain and allow it to sit for five minutes.
- After five minutes, use a soft cloth to remove the paste and rinse it out with lukewarm water.
- If the stain persists, dab some rubbing alcohol directly onto the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then, use a soft cloth to blot the area.
- Mix one part white vinegar and one part water and pour it over the stain. Blot the area using a soft cloth and rinse out with lukewarm water.
- If the stain remains, soak a cotton ball in hydrogen peroxide and apply it to the stain. Allow the solution to sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.
- If all else fails, use a dry-cleaning solvent to spot-clean the stained area.
