If you spot stain while it’s still wet, grab a cloth or paper towel and soak up as much of the liquid as you can. Blot, don’t scrub! Scrubbing will spread the stain and make it tougher to remove.
When the stain has been absorbed by the cloth, pour a small amount of white vinegar directly onto the area and use a soft brush to gently scrub the fabric. Continue doing this until the stain begins to fade. Allow to sit for several minutes before rinsing with cold water.
If the stain is still visible after using vinegar, try applying a few drops of dish detergent to area and scrubbing again with a soft brush. Let the detergent sit for several minutes before rinsing with cold water.
Once the stain has been removed, hang the sarong in direct sunlight or use a hairdryer to heat fabric and lock in the cleaning solution. If you need further assistance, contact a professional dry cleaner with experience cleaning delicate fabrics.
