Mix equal parts laundry detergent and hydrogen peroxide together to form a paste. Apply this paste directly onto the blood stain and let it sit for approximately 30 minutes. This pre-treatment will help break down the proteins in the blood, making it easier to remove.
After the pre-treatment has set, sprinkle some salt on stain and use a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub it lightly. The salt will help work pre-treatment even deeper into the fibers of the fabric, loosening the dried blood.
Fill a bowl or sink with warm water and pour in some white vinegar. Place the sari in the bowl or sink and allow it to soak for about an hour. This will help dissolve any remaining traces of the blood.
Once you have finished soaking the sari in white vinegar, place it in the washing machine and wash according to the instructions on care tag. Use only cold water when washing, as hot water can set the stain.
Once the sari is washed, gently squeeze out any excess water and hang it to dry in a well-ventilated area. Avoid using a clothes dryer as this could cause the stain to set.
