Step 1: Gather Materials

Before you get started, make sure you have everything you need:

  • Enzyme-based laundry detergent such as Tide Ultra Stain Release or Persil ProClean
  • Water
  • Clean white cloth

Step 2: Presoak Robe in Detergent Solution

If the stain is still wet, mix laundry detergent with warm water and presoak your robe in solution for up to six hours. If the stain has already dried and set into the fabric, skip this step.

Step 3: Rinse with Cold Water

Once the soaking time is up, rinse the robe with cold water. This helps remove the detergent.

Step 4: Launder Robe

Now that you’ve pre-treated or pre-soaked the robe, you’re ready to launder! Place your robe in the washing machine and follow these instructions:

  • Set the washer to cold water.
  • Use the gentle cycle.
  • Add an enzyme-based detergent.
  • Do not use chlorine bleach or fabric softener.
  • Do not overload washer.

Step 5: Check the Stain

After the washing cycle is complete, check the robe for any remaining stain. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps two through four.
