The first step to removing a blood stain is to pre-treat it. To do this, mix one tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent with one cup of cold water. Then, begin dabbing the mixture onto the stain with a clean cloth or rag. Be sure to use a gentle rubbing motion, as scrubbing the fabric too harshly could damage it.
After pre-treating the stain, submerge Rash Guard in a basin or sink of cold water. Allow the garment to soak for at least 30 minutes so that the stain can be more easily removed. Make sure to agitate the garment every 5 minutes or so while it’s soaking to help loosen the stain.
Once the garment has had a chance to soak, launder it using a mild detergent and the coldest possible water setting. Avoid using hot water, as this could cause the stain to set in even further. After the cycle is complete, check garment to ensure that stain has been fully removed before taking it out of the washing machine.
To prevent stain from returning, air dry the Rash Guard instead of putting it in the dryer. Hang the garment outside or lay it flat on a clothesline or drying rack to allow it to naturally dry in the sun.
