If the blood stain has dried, it is important to act quickly. To start, saturate the area with hydrogen peroxide and leave it on for several minutes. Once it has soaked, blot peroxide off with a towel. Next, mix a solution of one quart cold water and one teaspoon liquid dishwashing detergent. Apply this mixture to the stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Finally, use a cloth and blot the stain until it lifts.
For fresh blood stains, it is best to start by blotting the area with cold water and a clean cloth. Blot the stain until all of liquid has been absorbed, changing the cloth if needed. Next, dip a cloth in a mixture of one cup warm water and one tablespoon laundry detergent and dab the area. Rinse cloth with cold water and continue to dab stain until it is gone.
Getting rid of tough blood stains from polyester may take some effort, but following these tips will help you tackle them quickly and effectively. Be sure to test any cleaning solutions on a small area of the fabric first to ensure that no damage is caused.
