Blood stains occur when you least expect it, especially if you’re active! Depending on the fabric of your polo shirt, there are several different methods you can use to safely remove any blood stains. Here are best ways to clean both light and dark colored polos.

Removing Blood Stains from Light Colored Polos

Light colored polos require a gentler approach in removing blood stains. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent
  • White vinegar

Follow these steps:

  1. Immediately rinse the polo with cold water.
  2. Mix a solution of one tablespoon of mild detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar into two cups of cold water.
  3. Soak the polo in the soapy solution for 15 minutes.
  4. Rinse polo with cold water and repeat if necessary.

Removing Blood Stains from Dark Colored Polos

Follow these steps to remove blood stains from dark colored polos:

  1. Combine one part dishwashing liquid with one part hydrogen peroxide in a bowl.
  2. Apply this solution directly onto the affected area.
  3. Let the solution sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Rinse the polo with cold water.
  5. Repeat as needed.

With either method, always remember to spot test the solution on an inconspicuous area of polo before applying it to the stained area. Blood stains on polos can be difficult to remove completely, but with patience, you will be able to get rid of stain. Good luck!
