Start by blotting the stain with a damp, clean rag or sponge. You don’t want to scrub the stain because that can cause it to spread and set in deeper. Just gently dab the area until it stops transferring onto the cloth.
Mix a few drops of mild soap into cold water and stir. Make sure soap is completely dissolved in water before proceeding.
Dip your sponge or rag into the soapy solution and gently rub it over stained area. Work the soap and water into the stain as much as possible, but take care not to scrub too hard.
Rinse the area thoroughly with cold water and blot it dry with a clean cloth. If the stain persists, mix together equal parts hydrogen peroxide and white vinegar and apply it to the area. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water and blot dry.
If stain remains, fill a spray bottle with four parts cold water and one part baking soda. Spray the mixture onto the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. Scrub the area with a sponge or brush, then rinse with cold water and blot dry.
Getting rid of blood stains on pet beds doesn’t have to be a challenge. With right supplies and steps, you can restore your pet bed’s look in no time. Now you’re ready to tackle those pesky stains the next time they appear.
