What You Need:

  • Cold water
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Laundry detergent

Step 1: Rinse the Stain

First, rinse the areas affected by the blood stain thoroughly with cold water. This helps to wash away any dirt, debris, or other substances that can bind to the stain and make it harder to remove.

Step 2: Soak the Stain

Next, fill a sink or bucket with cold water and add either vinegar, baking soda, or hydrogen peroxide. Soak the overalls in the solution for 15 minutes before rinsing with cold water. This soaking process can help to break down the proteins in the blood and lift stain.

Step 3: Treat Stain

Once the garment has been soaked and rinsed, apply a laundry detergent directly to the stained area. Let the detergent sit for 10 minutes, then rub the stained area between your fingers and rinse. If the stain is still present, repeat this process until the stain is removed.

Step 4: Wash the Overalls

Once the stain has been successfully removed, launder the overalls as normal. It's important to use cold water as hot water can set the stain and make it harder to remove.
