Blood stains can be quite difficult to get rid of, but luckily there are several ways to deal with them. Depending on the fabric, you can choose between a few different options. Here are the steps needed to clean off any stubborn blood stains from your lingerie.
As soon as possible, treat the blood stained area with cold water. The more time passes, the harder it will be to remove stain. Rinse lingerie in cold water and try to break up the stain with your finger. This should be enough to remove any fresh blood stains.
If the steps above haven't been enough to get rid of the stain, you can try creating your own stain removal solution. The most effective combinations are usually salt and water, or diluted vinegar and water. Simply mix one tablespoon of chosen option with a cup of cold water and apply the solution to the stain. Allow the lingerie to air dry or use a hair dryer to speed up the process.
If the DIY approach doesn't work, you can always find help in the form of commercial stain removers. Many of these are specifically designed for delicate fabrics, such as lingerie, and should be used after following the instructions on the label. Avoid products that contain bleach, as these can damage the fabric.
Once the stain has been treated and removed, you can continue washing the lingerie as usual. Be sure to check if the stain has been completely eliminated before drying it, as heat can make stain set in permanently.
