What You'll Need

  • Cold water
  • Towel
  • Mild liquid dish soap
  • Hydrogen peroxide (3%)

Instructions

  1. Blot up as much of the blood as you can with a towel.
  2. Mix 1 teaspoon of mild liquid dish soap with 1/4 cup cold water in a bowl.
  3. Saturate a fresh cloth in the solution and apply it to the stained area.
  4. Scrub gently until the stain has been fully removed.
  5. Rinse the fabric with cold water. If a stain is still visible, mix 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide with 1/4 cup of cold water and pour it onto the stain.
  6. Scrub gently at the stain and leave it to sit for 5 minutes.
  7. Rinse area with cold water and dry thoroughly.

Tips

  • Be careful not to rub or scrub the fabric too hard while you are treating stain - this could cause the fabric to fray or tear.
  • Always test a small area of fabric with cleaning solution before using the full amount, to avoid discoloring the fabric.
  • Be sure to rinse the area thoroughly after each treatment, as residue left behind can cause the fabric to discolor over time.
