Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Before you begin, you'll need to make sure that you have all the supplies you'll need in order to properly remove the stain. You'll need: cold water, an enzyme-based cleaning solution, a soft cloth, and hydrogen peroxide.

Step 2: Blot the Stain

Using soft cloth, start to gently blot the stain, working from the outer edge of the stain inwards. Make sure that you do not rub stain, as this could cause it to spread further. As you are blotting, pour cold water over the stained area. Do not use hot or warm water, as this could cause the stain to set in the fabric.

Step 3: Apply Cleaning Solution

Once you have finished blotting the stain, apply an enzyme-based cleaning solution to it. Follow the instructions on the bottle for best results. Allow the solution to sit on the stained area for up to 10 minutes before continuing.

Step 4: Rinse

After the cleaning solution has had time to do its work, rinse the area with cold water. Make sure to rinse thoroughly until all cleaning solution is gone.

Step 5: Use Hydrogen Peroxide

If stain remains after rinsing, you can try using a hydrogen peroxide solution. Mix a small amount of hydrogen peroxide with an equal part of cold water and apply it to stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before blotting with a soft cloth.

Step 6: Repeat As Necessary

If stain is still present after following these steps, you may need to repeat them a few times before it is completely gone. Be sure to allow the cleaning solution and hydrogen peroxide to sit for the recommended amount of time before blotting.

Conclusion

With the right supplies and technique, you can easily clean blood stains from your furniture. Remember to be gentle when blotting the stain and to never rub it, as this could cause it to spread further. If necessary, repeating steps a few times should remove the stubborn stains.
