Start by taking item of clothing and soaking it in cool water, either in a sink or bowl. Let it soak for up to 10 minutes. This will help loosen the stain and make it easier to remove.
Once the stain has soaked, take a towel and blot the area around the stain. Don't rub the stain. That will only spread the blood further and make it harder to remove. Instead, use light patting motions to try and absorb as much of the blood as possible.
Now apply a spot cleaner or laundry detergent directly to the stained area. Use a soft cloth and rub the stain lightly. Be sure to rinse the cloth often so it does not leave soap residue on material.
After you’ve applied the spot cleaner, rinse affected area with cold water. This helps remove any detergent residue, which can damage the fabric.
For stubborn stains, you may need to wash the fabric in a washing machine with detergent and cold water. Choose a gentle cycle to ensure the fabric doesn’t shrink or become damaged.
If the stain is still visible after the first attempt, then repeat all of the steps mentioned above. Once it’s gone, hang your double georgette fabric out to dry.
