Take a clean white cloth and some cold water. Gently blot the stained area, using the cloth and cold water, to help lift some of the stain. Be careful not to rub the fabric, as this could damage the fibers or push the stain deeper into the material.
Mix a solution of cold water and mild detergent, then submerge the stained area in the mixture. Allow the fabric to soak for at least 30 minutes. Try not to leave the fabric submerged for too long, however, as the water may further set the stain.
After soaking, rinse the fabric with cold water to remove any residue. Avoid using hot water as this will cause the stain to become more difficult to remove.
If the stain persists, repeat steps 1-3 until all evidence of the blood has been removed. If the stain still remains, try using a stain remover specifically designed for blood.
