Determine what type of fabric your dress is made out of so you can use the right cleaning solutions. Generally, fabrics like wool, silk and nylon should be hand washed, while polyester and cotton are better for machine washing.
Sprinkle salt onto the blood stain and try to blot as much of the blood as possible. Repeat process until stain has been completely removed.
Soak fabric in cold water for around 30 minutes, ensuring that the water reaches the whole area of stain. This will help loosen up the stain, making it easier to remove.
Put the dress in the washing machine and use a detergent specifically designed for type of fabric. For best results, use a pre-wash stain remover or pre-treat the fabric before putting it in the machine.
Air-dry the dress rather than using dryer. This will prevent shrinkage and further damage to the fabric.
Getting rid of blood stains on your favorite piece of clothing can be tricky but with the right approach, it can be done! Follow steps above and you'll have your dress looking good as new in no time.
