Gather Your Supplies

First, collect the necessary supplies:

  • Cold water
  • Liquid detergent
  • Salt
  • Lemon juice
  • Plastic spoon
  • Clean white cloths

Treat the Stain

Before attempting to remove stain, treat it with any of the following substances:

  1. Apply cold water to the stain as soon as possible.
  2. Mix 1 teaspoon of liquid detergent and 1 teaspoon of salt in ¼ cup of cold water, then use a plastic spoon to delicately rub the mixture into the stain.
  3. Alternatively, mix 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of salt in ¼ cup of cold water and apply mixture to the stain using a clean white cloth.

Let the mixture sit on the stain for 30 minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Using the Washer and Dryer

Once you’ve removed as much of stain as possible, place the stains in the washer and use warm water and a mild detergent to wash. If the stain persists, try adding white vinegar to the wash cycle.

When washing the stained fabric is complete, hang it up to air dry. Do not put the garment in the dryer, as the heat may set the stain.
