As soon as possible, use a paper towel to soak up as much of the excess blood as you can. Apply gentle pressure, and avoid rubbing or scrubbing the area.
Mix equal parts ammonia and cold water in a small bowl and then pour it over stain. Allow the solution to soak for around 5 minutes.
Once the stain has been saturated with the ammonia mixture, use a soft-bristled brush or an old toothbrush to gently agitate the fabric. Do not scrub too hard as this could damage the fabric.
Rinse the affected area with cold water and then pat dry with a clean, white cloth. Repeat steps 2-4 as needed until the stain is removed.
If the stain is still visible, mix equal parts hydrogen peroxide and dishwashing liquid in a bowl and apply it to the stain. Let it sit for 5 minutes before rinsing with cold water. Alternatively, you can sprinkle baking soda or cornstarch over stain and let it sit for a few hours before brushing it off.
Once the stain has been removed, launder your garment as usual. Make sure to check that the stain is totally gone before drying.
