Using a Hydrogen Peroxide and Detergent Solution

This method is effective for freshly spilled blood stains. Start by mixing one teaspoon of laundry detergent with one cup of three percent hydrogen peroxide solution. Blot the stain with solution and allow it to sit for five minutes. Next, sponge the area with cold water and blot until the stain is gone.

Adhesive Tape

Adhesive tape can be used to lift dried blood spots from your brocade fabric. First, press a piece of adhesive tape against the stain. Then, pull off the tape in the opposite direction of the fabric's nap. If the stain isn't completely removed, repeat this process until it is.

Cold Water

Cold water can be used to treat light to moderate blood stains. Start by rinsing the stain with cold water and blotting with a clean cloth. Then, apply a small amount of detergent and rinse again until the stain has been removed.

Cornstarch Paste

A cornstarch paste is an effective way to treat stubborn blood stains. Begin by mixing equal parts of cornstarch and cold water. Apply paste to the stain, wait fifteen minutes, then brush it off before washing the fabric.

Aspirin Powder

Aspirin powder can help to break down tough blood stains. Start by sprinkling a small amount of aspirin powder onto the stain. Rub it in gently with your fingers or a clean cloth and let it sit for thirty minutes. Finally, rinse with cold water and wash as normal.

Ammonia

Ammonia is effective at removing old blood stains from fabrics. Start by mixing one teaspoon of ammonia with one cup of warm water. Soak a cloth in solution and blot the stain until it begins to fade. Finally, rinse the area with cold water and air dry.

Enzyme-Based Pretreater

If all else fails, try using an enzyme-based pretreater. These are specially designed to lift stubborn blood stains from fabrics. To use, spray the pretreater directly onto the stain and let it sit for fifteen minutes. Then, wash fabric in cold water.
