Step 1: Soak in Cold Water

As soon as you notice the stain, soak your briefs in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This will help loosen and dilute the blood so that it’s easier to remove. If possible, use salt-water since it helps break down any proteins in the stain.

Step 2: Use Detergent or Enzyme Cleaner

Once you’ve finished soaking, use a mild detergent or enzyme cleaner such as borax or dish soap to treat the stained area. Make sure the detergent is free of dyes, bleaches, and perfumes that can damage delicate fabrics. Create a thick paste of the detergent and apply to the stained area, using a soft toothbrush or rag to scrub it gently. Let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it with cold water.

Step 3: Rinse & Dry

After you've done the first two steps, rinse your briefs thoroughly with cold water to remove any remaining detergent residue. Gently squeeze the excess water out and then lay flat or hang to dry. Do not put your briefs in the dryer, as this can set stain. Once dry, inspect the area to make sure stains have been adequately removed.
