One of simplest solutions for getting rid of a bloodstain is rinsing it in cold water and applying a small amount of detergent directly to stain. Use a blotting motion with a soft cloth or sponge to gently rub the detergent into the fabric. Do not scrub, as this could spread the stain.
Like the cold water and detergent, mixing baking soda and vinegar can help break up a stubborn bloodstain on board shorts. Create a paste by mixing equal amounts of baking soda and white vinegar, then carefully apply the paste directly to the stain and let it sit for up to 15 minutes. (Keep an eye on the paste to ensure it does not harden too much.) Rinse the stained area in cold water, then repeat if necessary.
Another option for getting rid of a stubborn bloodstain is to use hydrogen peroxide. Start by diluting the hydrogen peroxide with equal parts cold water; then, using a soft cloth or sponge, gently rub the solution onto the stained fabric. Let it sit for up to an hour before rinsing in cold water. Repeat if necessary.
With right approach, eliminating blood stains from board shorts isn’t complicated or difficult. Using cold water and detergent, baking soda and vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide can help get stubborn stains out of your favourite fabric.
