The first thing you should do is attempt to pretreat the stain by blotting it with a cloth soaked in cold water. Blot the area to get rid of as much of the blood as possible. You can also use laundry detergent and dab it onto stain. Rub the detergent into the fabric in a gentle motion and rinse the excess liquid with a damp cloth.
Create a paste with 3 parts cold water and 1 part salt. Mix the two together until you have a thick paste. Spread the paste over the stain and leave it for at least 15 minutes. After the paste has had time to dry, use a brush to brush away paste from the garment.
Once the paste has been removed, put the garment into the washing machine. Make sure to use the hottest water setting that is safe for the fabric. After the wash is complete, hang the garment or lay it flat to dry.
