Cleaning Blood Stains from Fabric Backpacks with Household Items

If your backpack is made of fabric, you can get rid of blood stains by applying a few common household items. Here are the steps you need to take:

  • Mix one teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with two cups of cold water.
  • Use a clean cloth or sponge to dab the mixture onto the stained area and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  • Once the time is up, use a clean cloth dipped in cold water to rinse off soapy solution.
  • Finally, use a damp paper towel to blot the area until it's dry.

Cleaning Blood Stains from Leather Backpacks with Suede Cleaner

Leather backpacks require some special attention when it comes to cleaning blood stains. Here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Dampen a cloth with lukewarm water and use it to gently scrub the stain with a small amount of mild soap.
  • Rinse area with a clean, damp cloth.
  • Once you've removed visible signs of the stain, apply a small amount of suede cleaner to a clean cloth and gently rub it into stained area.
  • Let it sit for around 10 minutes, then use a clean cloth to wipe off the remaining cleaner.
  • Finally, let your backpack air dry.

Additional Tips

Keep in mind that when you're dealing with leather and fabric backpacks, there are some additional techniques you can use to boost your stain-removal efforts.

  • Always read care instructions before attempting to clean any type of backpack.
  • Pretreat any spots with a gentle laundry detergent prior to washing the backpack.
  • Avoid scrubbing or rubbing the stain too hard, as it may damage the material of the backpack.
