What You'll Need

  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent or soap
  • Sponge or cloth

Step 1: Soak in Cold Water

If you've noticed the stain fresh, the first step is to soak the fabric in cold water. It's important to use cold water here as warm water will help stain to set and make it harder to remove.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

To get rid of stain, you need to apply a mild detergent or soap directly to the affected area. Rub it gently into the fabric with your hands or a soft sponge or cloth and then rinse it with cold water.

Step 3: Place in Sunlight

Once the stain has been removed, the next step is to place the fabric in direct sunlight. The UV rays from the sun will help to naturally bleach the fabric and remove any remaining traces of the stain. Allow the fabric to air dry in the sunlight.
