Step 1: Gather Supplies

To clean a berry stain from a tunic, you'll need these supplies: laundry detergent, a scrub brush and hydrogen peroxide. Make sure the detergent has no bleach and is suitable for cold water.

Step 2: Rub Detergent onto the Stain

Start by using the scrub brush to rub some laundry detergent into the stain. Rub the detergent into fabric until the stain starts to fade. This process may take some time and elbow grease.

Step 3: Wash the Garment

Once stain has been treated with the detergent, it’s time to wash the tunic. Read instructions on care label to make sure it’s washed properly. Use cold water as heated water can cause the stain to intensify.

Step 4: Treatment with Hydrogen Peroxide

If stain persists after washing, you can use hydrogen peroxide to try and dissolve it. Keep in mind that hydrogen peroxide can discolour fabrics, so make sure you pre-test it on an inconspicuous area of the garment. If it’s safe to use, dip some cotton balls in the peroxide and dab at the stain.

Step 5: Let Dry in the Sun

Once stain has been treated with the hydrogen peroxide, hang your tunic in the sun to dry. This will help to further dissolve any lingering stain. Once it’s dry, you should be left with a spotless tunic.
