The first step is to gently scrape away or blot as much of the stain as possible using a paper towel or cloth. This will help minimize the amount of stain that needs to be treated and prevent it from spreading.
You can pre-treat the stain by lightly spraying a small amount of detergent onto the fabric. Gently rub the detergent into the fabric and then leave it for around 15 minutes. Afterwards, rinse the fabric with cold water to remove the detergent.
For more stubborn stains, you may need to use a specialized stain remover. Make sure you read the directions carefully before applying the stain remover as it may have different techniques for different fabrics. Once stain remover has been applied, rinse the area with cold water.
Once you have pre-treated the stain and applied a specialized stain remover, you can wash the fabric in cold water. This will help remove any remaining residue of the stain. However, if the stain is still present, you may need to repeat steps 1-3 before washing.
Finally, hang the traditional dress up to air dry. It is important that you do not put the dress in the dryer or use heat to dry the clothing as this could cause the stain to set in.
