Step 1: Gently Remove Sticky Residue

Berries are messy and often leave a sticky residue on clothing. To remove this, dab spot with a mild dishwashing liquid solution. Simply mix a teaspoon of mild dishwashing liquid in a cup of warm water and use a white cloth or sponge to dab the stained area. Avoid scrubbing the fabric; instead, gently blot the area until the stain disappears or lightens.

Step 2: Soak in a Special Solution

Once the initial stickiness has been removed, you can soak the clothing in a special solution to further remove stain. Mix a quarter-cup of white vinegar, a half-cup of baking soda, and one tablespoon of laundry detergent together in a half-gallon of warm water. Submerge the stained garment in the solution and let it sit for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Launder as Usual

Once the item has been soaked, launder it as you normally would. It is important to check the area again once the item has been laundered and dried, as any remaining stain may still be visible. If so, repeat the steps above before drying the garment to avoid setting the stain.
