Removing Fresh Berry Stains

If the berry stain is fresh and still wet, act fast! You'll want to flush stained area immediately with cold water. This will help dilute the stain and prevent it from setting in.

Treating Set-In Berry Stains

If the berry stain has had time to settle into your top, you will want to make a paste using a mixture of mild soap, water and baking soda. Rub paste onto affected area and let it sit for about 10 minutes before washing it away. For tougher stains, add some white vinegar to the paste.

Using Commercial Stain Removers

If you don't have any luck removing the berry stain with baking soda and vinegar, commercial stain removers can do the trick. Simply dissolve the powder in warm water and soak your top in the solution for about an hour. Then, launder as usual.

Other Helpful Tips

  • Avoid using hot water or rubbing stain too hard, which may cause the stain to spread and set further.
  • Apply the above solutions to stained area first and then pre-treat the garment.
  • When possible, use gentle cycle in the washing machine instead of a full cycle.
