Step 1: Blot Fresh Stains

If you catch stain as soon as it happens, your best move is to immediately blot the spot with a cloth or paper towel. Avoid rubbing or spreading the stain as much as possible. If the berry juice has already soaked into the fabric, move on to Step 2.

Step 2: Treat Spot With Club Soda

Mix one part club soda with two parts cold water and apply mixture to the stained area with a cloth. Let it sit for five minutes and then rinse with cold water. Repeat until stain is gone.

Step 3: Try Dish Soap

If the stain is still present after the club soda rinse, move on to dish soap. Mix one part dish soap with two parts cold water and apply to the stain with a cloth. Allow to sit for ten minutes and then rinse with cold water. For tougher stains, add some baking soda to the dish soap solution.

Final Thoughts

With these simple steps, you should be able to get those pesky berry stains out of your favorite ties. Now go out there, enjoy the berries, and don't worry about getting them all over yourself the next time you have an accident.
