The first thing you need to do is protect the fabric by blotting the stain with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel. Be careful not to rub it into fabric as this may make the stain worse.
Once you’ve blotted it out, apply a small amount of detergent directly onto the stain and work it into the fabric with your fingers. This will help to loosen up stain and make it easier to remove.
Rinse the tie in cold water and gently blot the fabric to remove the soap. Make sure to not scrub or rub too hard, as this could damage the fabric.
Once you have rinsed the tie, fill a bowl with lukewarm water and add some stain remover. Soak tie in the solution for approximately 10 minutes and then rinse it off with cold water.
After rinsing, hang the tie out to air dry. Do not put it in dryer as this could set the stain and make it harder to remove.
