What You'll Need

  • White cloth
  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent
  • Soft-bristle brush

Step One: Blot the Stain

As soon as a berry stain appears on your taffeta garment, grab a white cloth and press it against the affected area to blot the excess juice. Be careful not to rub the fabric or you may spread the stain and make it worse.

Step Two: Dampen the Stain

Next, soak the area in cold water for a few minutes to soften the stain. Avoid using hot or warm water since this could set the stain permanently.

Step Three: Scrub with Detergent

Now it's time to tackle the stain more aggressively by adding detergent to area. Grab a soft-bristle brush and scrub stain gently. Work the detergent into the fibers until the stain fades.

Step Four: Rinse the Fabrics

Rinse the taffeta in cold water until all the soap has been removed. You can repeat steps 2-4 several times as needed until the stain has been completely removed.

Schedule Professional Cleaning

If the stain persists, consider scheduling a professional dry cleaning to give your taffeta garment the thorough deep clean it needs. This will help ensure that any remaining stains are completely removed.
