Removing Berry Stains From Your Sundress
- First, blot the stain with a dry cloth to absorb as much of the juice as possible. Do not rub or scrub the stain – this will only spread the stain and make it harder to remove.
- Once the area is blotted, rinse fabric in cold water to remove any remaining residue. Allow the fabric to air-dry.
- If the stain remains, mix a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid and a tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm water, and soak the fabric for 30 minutes . The detergent will help lift the stain, while the vinegar helps break it down. Rinse fabric with cold water and allow it to air dry. If the stain remains, repeat this process until stain is completely gone.
- If the fabric is colorfast, mix a teaspoon of chlorine bleach and two cups of water , and soak the fabric for 30 minutes. Rinse the fabric in cold water and allow it to air dry. Repeat this process if the stain still remains.
Tips For Removing Berry Stains
- Don’t let the stain set in – act quickly to avoid a hard-to-remove stain.
- Be sure to test any cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area of the sundress first to make sure the fabric is colorfast.
- After the stain is removed, wash the fabric in cold water using a mild detergent to remove any remaining detergents or cleaners.
- Allow the fabric to air-dry, then check to make sure the stain is completely gone before wearing.
