Berries are a delicious and nutritious snack that goes especially well with a good book or movie before bedtime. Unfortunately, these little taste treats can sometimes leave temporary reminders of their presence behind – stains on your favorite pajamas. Instead of discarding the sleepwear, let's explore how to quickly restore them to their original glory!

What You'll Need

  • 1 teaspoon of washing detergent
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • Cold water
  • A sponge

How to Clean Berry Stains from Sleepwear

First, create a cleaning solution by mixing 1 teaspoon of washing detergent with one tablespoon of vinegar in a bowl of cold water. Stir the solution until it is blended together.

Dampen the sponge in the solution, then gently blot the back of the stained sleepwear. This should lift some of berry juice away from the fabric fibers. Rinse the sponge often during the process and reapply the cleaning solution when needed.

Finally, rinse away cleaning solution with cold water, and repeat blotting process if the stain has not disappeared. Once the stain is gone, hang your clean sleepwear in a well-ventilated area to air dry.

Tips for Removing Berry Stains from Sleepwear

  • Be sure to use cold water; hot water can set the stain in.
  • Test cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the sleepwear before applying it to the stain, to ensure that it won't damage or discolor the fabric.
  • If the stain is still visible after the first treatment, repeat the process with a stronger cleaning solution.
