Step 1: Scrape Off Excess

The first step in getting rid of any berry stain is to scrape off the excess with a spoon or a butter knife. Be sure not to push too hard, as this could push the berry stain further into the fabric and set it in even more. Instead, just lightly scrape away any visible residue so fabric beneath is clean.

Step 2: Pre-Treat Stain

Once you've scraped off the excess residue, the next step is to pre-treat the stain. The best way to do this is by using a mixture of detergent and white vinegar. Mix together 1 teaspoon of detergent and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and apply directly to the stain. Allow the pre-treatment to sit for 10 minutes before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: Wash Shirt

Once the pre-treatment has had time to work its magic, it's time to wash shirt. Put the shirt in the washing machine and set the temperature to cold or warm, depending on the type of fabric your sleep shirt is made out of. As for detergent, use a mild laundry detergent that is specifically designed for colored fabrics. Once the cycle has finished, it's time to move on to the final step.

Step 4: Dry and Check

When the washing cycle is done, take the sleep shirt out and put it in dryer. Set dryer to a low heat setting, as high heat can set in any remaining stains. Once the shirt is fully dry, check it to make sure that the berry stain has been successfully removed. If there are still traces of the stain remaining, repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain is completely gone.
