What You’ll Need:

  • Bowl
  • Cold water
  • Gentle detergent
  • Soft cloth
  • White vinegar
  • Salt

Step 1: Prep the Stain

Begin by sparingly wetting a cold cloth with water and gently dabbing at the stain. Be careful to not rub or scrub fabric too roughly, as this will only drive the stain deeper into the fabric.

Step 2: Create the Solution

Fill a bowl with lukewarm water and mix in a small amount of gentle detergent. Swirl mixture together until it forms a soapy solution. Soak stained portion of the fabric in the solution for approximately 30 minutes.

Step 3: Tackle the Stain

Immediately after removing the fabric from the solution, sprinkle the stained area with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts salt. Let it sit for another 30 minutes before rinsing the area with cold water.

Step 4: Rinse & Dry

Once the stain has been addressed, rinse the fabric gently with cold water. Do not rub or scrub, as this could cause further damage to the fabric. Finally, hang the garment to air dry.

Final Thoughts

By following these easy steps, you can quickly and efficiently remove berry stains from silk nylon garments. Be sure to exercise care when dealing with this delicate fabric, as rough treatment may cause permanent damage.
