Using Soap and Water

The simplest is usually the best way to go, so start with just some regular soap and warm water. Make sure the water is warm rather than hot or cold as moderate temperature will work the best. Soak the stained area in the warm, soapy water for at least 10 minutes. Then, remove the shorts from the water and scrub area gently using an old toothbrush. If necessary, rinse with water and repeat the process until the stain is completely gone.

Using Vinegar and Salt

If the above method failed to get job done, you can try a mix of vinegar and salt. Combine equal parts vinegar and salt, and stir until latter dissolves. With a clean cloth, apply the mixture to the stained area and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Scrub the area gently using an old toothbrush and rinse with warm water. Repeat the process until the stain has disappeared.

Using Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide

This method is especially useful for stubborn berry stains. Start by making a paste by combining 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide. Apply the paste to the stained area and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Then, gently scrub the area with an old toothbrush and rinse with warm water. Repeat if necessary until the stain is gone.

Using Ammonia

Ammonia is a powerful cleaning agent, and it can be used to remove berry stains from shorts. Start by applying a few drops of ammonia directly onto the stained area and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then, using an old toothbrush, gently scrub the area and rinse with warm water. Repeat the process until stain disappears.

Using Bleach

If all else fails, you can always reach for the bleach. However, be careful when using bleach as it can damage the fabric of your shorts. Start by mixing 1/4 cup of bleach with 1/3 cup of warm water and stir until the bleach dissolves. Soak the stained area in the solution for 10-15 minutes and then remove the shorts and rinse with warm water. Repeat the process until the stain is gone.
