The first step in removing any stain is identifying what type of stain it is. In this case, it's a berry stain. This stain can come from different sources such as blueberries, strawberries, and even blackberries. Once you identify the type of stain, you can move on to the next step.
Once you have identified stain, it's time to pre-treat it. Pre-treating a stain helps loosen and lift the particles, making it easier to remove when you start the cleaning process. For a berry stain, use a pre-wash spray or a dab of liquid detergent. Spray or dab the pre-wash directly on the stain and let it sit for a few minutes before moving onto the next step.
Once you have pre-treated stain, it's time to wash the garment. To properly clean a shantung fabric, you must use the delicate cycle on your washing machine, set the temperature to cold, and use a gentle, dye-free detergent. If the stain is still visible after washing, don't put the item in the dryer. Instead, move on to the next step.
If the stain is still visible after washing, then you need to treat it again. To do this, you should use a liquid stain remover. Spray or dab the liquid remover directly on the stain and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cold water. When you are finished, let the garment air dry.
Once the garment is dry, inspect it for any remaining residue. If you still notice the stain, repeat steps three through five until the stain is completely gone.
