Getting Berry Stains Out of Your Raincoat Easily

Knowing how to safely remove berry stains from your raincoat is a must. Whether you've been running through a raspberry patch or have gotten a bit too creative with your summer smoothie, there are a few simple tips and tricks you can use to get your raincoat looking as good as new.

What You'll Need

  • Cold water or club soda
  • White vinegar
  • Borax
  • Dish detergent
  • Sponge

Removing a Fresh Stain

  1. Soak up any excess berry juice from stain using a sponge.
  2. Mix together one tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of cold water.
  3. Dab the solution onto the stain using the sponge and allow it to soak for 10 minutes.
  4. Rinse out the vinegar solution with cold water.

Removing a Stubborn Stain

  1. Soak up any excess berry juice from the stain using a sponge.
  2. Mix 1 part dish detergent with 2 parts Borax and warm water.
  3. Dab the solution onto the stain using the sponge and allow it to soak for 20-30 minutes.
  4. Rinse out the solution with cold water.

Additional Tips

  • If the stain persists, repeat either of the methods outlined above until it has been completely removed.
  • It is important not to scrub or rub the stain, as this could cause the stain to spread and worsen the damage.
  • Be sure to dry the area thoroughly once the stain has been removed.
