Summer is the season of berries, and juicy berry stains can often end up on your valuable purse. Whether you’ve been on a strawberry picking trip or had a wild berry lemonade spill, you don’t want to let stains ruin your favorite bag. Here are some simple steps you can take to remove berry stains and get your purse looking pristine again.
The first step is to test a small area of the material to ensure it won’t damage it. Mix a small amount of dish detergent with warm water and apply it to an inconspicuous spot, then wait a few minutes. Check for discoloration, fading, or any other signs that the material is not responding positively to the solution.
Once you’ve tested the material, start blotting the stain with a clean cloth. Gently dab the garment until the stain is absorbed into the cloth, then rinse with cold water. Repeat this process until you notice that stain has started to lighten.
Make a cleaning solution by mixing one teaspoon of liquid dish detergent with two cups of warm water. Then, dip a cloth in the solution and start dabbing the affected area. Be sure to blot the stain gently to avoid making it worse.
After a few minutes, rinse the purse with cold water and make sure that all traces of cleaning solution have been removed. Finally, let purse air dry before using it again.
It might take a few tries, but removing berry stains from purses isn’t impossible. With these steps, you can get your purse looking brand new in no time!
