Step 1: Blot Stain

The first step is to soak up as much of berry stain as possible before it has the chance to set in. Take a clean cloth and gently press it onto the stained area to absorb any of the excess liquid. Do not rub or scrub fabric - you don’t want to damage the delicate material.

Step 2: Use Detergent and Water

Mix together some mild detergent and lukewarm water and use this to lightly dampen stained fabric. Place a few drops of the mixture onto the stained area and gently blot it with a clean cloth. Do not rub or scrub, but instead work the detergent into stain with light circular motions. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse it away with clean water.

Step 3: Use a Specialized Stain Remover

If the stain persists, try using a specialized stain remover designed for fabrics. There are plenty of products available on the market specifically designed to remove stubborn fruit stains from fabrics. Make sure to follow the instructions on the product label carefully and to never apply it directly to the fabric. If you are unsure about the product, it is always best to do a patch test on an inconspicuous area first.

Step 4: Dry and Inspect

Once you’re done cleaning the stained area, let the shoes air dry completely before inspecting their condition. If the stain is still visible, you can repeat the entire process until it is completely gone.

Step 5: Prevention is Better Than Cure!

It goes without saying that prevention is better than cure! If you want to avoid berry stains all together, it is best to avoid wearing your Puma shoes if you know you’ll be around berries. If you can’t avoid the situation, try wearing a pair of old shoes that you don’t mind staining.
